Thanks for the compliments folks. To answer some questions

I did this at a bodyweight around 195 at 5'9.

I don't really think squatting this weight is really going to take that much of a toll on my body. In the grand scheme of things, it's still medicore.

Regarding depth, that was about powerlifting legal. It's at least as low as you want to be going for a squat, otherwise it would be something else (quarter or half squat).

I can imagine that my right side might be different than my left. My wife has pointed out to me recently that my hips seem to settle unevenly. Hips aren't too good in my family, so something to watch out for.

I use a TDS powerrack, purchased off of

    http://newyorkbarbells.com/92563.html

The soundtrack is actually a funny story. My wife was on our elliptical offscreen watching "The Princess Diaries II", and the random women squeeling and musical selection sounded off, so I just covered it with whatever song I could find that was around the same length of time as the video. NIN has helped me with a lot of PRs though, haha.

I just noticed that you're at Minot. Goddamn no wonder you're lifting like a madman there's nothing to do there but work out (or go ice fishing). I was there for three months during Desert Storm and got into great shape while I was there.

I'm actually lifting less here than I was back in Vandenberg, just because my job is keeping me busy and my schedule is always changing. I've been lucky to get 2-3 training days within a 7 day period.

Do you roughly how much was on the chains? The only minor problem I can see is possibly to much forward lean but its difficult to tell from this camera angle. Really good lifting though!

What's you AFSC? I was in Security Forces (I was an LE specialist before the merge).

No idea on the weight of the chains. They're 5' in length, and 1/2 guage chains (store didn't have any 5/8). Maybe 20lbs a piece? I honestly prefer not to know, haha.

For the AFSC, I don't like to give that kinda info out, just because I've already got my face and location posted up, sorry 'bout that, haha.

Fantastic work. The video is very inspiring, and makes me want to look into weight training more. Thanks for posting it.

Amazingly, Rippetoe's squats aren't very far below parallel. He doesn't advocate ATG squats at all, but pretty much powerlifting legal squats. He feels ATGs actually are dangerous, as they require a significant degree of lumbar rounding to accomplish depth.

Thanks for the critiques and well wishes.
