I'm too old for 10 rds. on the heavy bag full tilt anymore..but I try to do as many crunches as I can in between rounds.
I'm not sure if other people here do this but nudging the bag around with your head and pushing off will help strengthen your neck and help you in the clinch when it comes time to fight.." in my opinion heavy bag training isnt strength training persay, but it does help develop strong stamina training giving the person to go hard and heavy for a long period of time (round training). but there are some things you cant do on the heavy bag which is why thai pads/mitts are so very important.

I don't think bag would could be compared to lifting in terms of strength for lifting weight.
But all I did for years was work bags, do pushups, situps and cardio, and to say that it didnt result in power would be wrong. I think my power was mosty due to the method I would throw, but the bagwork definitely instilled it thru and thru. -

Skinny guy who hits bag on regular basis vs. skinny guy who doesn't - definitely the one who hits the bag is going to be a bit stronger in the arms and shoulders, maybe even in the back.
All I'm saying is that to claim you train a heavy bag 'mostly for strength' is a little strange.
