Arlovski on primetime television

This is something that bothered me. Rothwell beat Nelson. Arlovski beat Rothwell. So now Arlovski fights Nelson? Since when do you go down in rankings by winning? Unless Nelson has had some recent wins that I don't know about.

On ten days notice, a Roy Nelson fight is an excellent bit of booking by EliteXC/Afflicition.

Had both companies had a few more weeks or months to put together this fight you'd expect the originally proposed Arlovski/Barnett fight but none of these guys (Arlovski, Barnett, Rothwell, Nelson etc.) became available until the Affliction event was cancelled.

Why beat Rothwell and then fight Nelson?
Because of the availability of fighters on short notice.
Because Nelson is better than Rothwell anyway.

C) This is EliteXC, who are building their promotion around a female "star" who hasn't made weight for a single one of her fights and are headlining this show with Ken Shamrock, who's riding a five fight losing streak; do you think they give a **** about rankings?
