    Arlovski on primetime television

Looks like Elite knows that they need more than internet sensations and women who can't make weight, they need legitimate HWs.

At least two fighters will not sit on the sidelines following the postponement of Affliction’s Oct. 4 “Day of Reckoning” event in Las Vegas.

Former UFC champion Andrei Arlovski (13-5) and IFL kingpin Roy Nelson (13-2) have been offered a heavyweight bout at EliteXC “Heat” Oct. 4 at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla. The event will be aired live on CBS.

Arlovski’s management team would not comment Wednesday on the proposed bout, while Nelson’s attorney, Rod Donohoo, also refrained from remarks. However, Sherdog.com has learned from separate sources that both fighters have agreed in principle to the match and that contracts have been issued for review.

The last-minute addition will be presented as an Affiction-EliteXC co-promoted fight, and adds a quite a punch to an already anticipated roster featuring a showdown between former Internet brawler Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson and UFC Hall-of-Famer Ken Shamrock. Female sensation Gina Carano is also on board to take on Kelly Kobald-Gavin in a 140-pound bout.
Sounds like a good card, but I think AA will kill Nelson.

I've personally never seen Nelson fight. But being the AA fan that I am, I'l be cheering for him.

Nelson is the former IFL heavyweight champion. He's got great jits, heavy hands, and surprising fitness for a big guy. Of course, AA has beat bigger, better guys with better jits, better hands, and better takedowns.

He also has the most disconcertingly high fat-to-skill ratio I've ever seen. I think he stores all his talent in that ginormous pot belly.

    Arlovski by speed and footwork.

It's a shame Arlovski was treated soo badly by the UFC he's a top top class heavyweight.

I think Arlovski vs Big Nog would have been a good match up.

Nelson's always in with a punchers chance but Arlovski will be too classy for him.

So what's their plan for when whomever wins this match splatters the face of their brand recognition all over the octagon?

Same as their plan for Brett Rogers, Antonio Silva and Ricco Rodriguez, which is to under no circumstances allow him in the cage with them.

He wasn't fighting to win anymore he was fighting not to lose. The change of scenery seems to be doing him good. Smart move by Elite I hope they can succeed.
