Oh yeah whats that little saying about the only 2 things to come out of TX.

Golly, that's cute, but you might think about settling down. All Arclight asked was where he fought.

For the record, I found him on Sherdog, but under a different spelling: Derrick Krantz.

This record seems more complete, as it includes his amateur fights, and 1 pro fight not listed on Sherdog. All his pro fights were in Louisiana, not Texas, but he does have some amateur fights in Texas. He's fought twice in sanctioned fights under TAMMA.

If you guys are so interested in Derrick "D-Rock" Krantz you can search TEAM 515 or Ring Rulers from the ARK-La-TEX. TEAM 515 out of Marshal and recently relocated to Longview is where he fights out of. He won two of the four title belts in Grand Prix's one in Arkansas Feb 08 and one somewhere up North. As far as his other belts I personally watched him win one of his Belts from Roy Spoon in Shreveport, La. at a Ring rulers event. He had to give up all of his amateur titles when he went PRO in June of this year. I believe he is currently 3-0 as a PRO fighter with one win at the Horshoe Casino in Bossier City, La., one win in Baton Rouge which there is a link to early on in this post, and know for a fact that he was selected to try out for Frank Shamrock's team in Cali. this past weekend.

I think the point is, Handsoffmma, that nobody is in fact interested in Derrick. We are interested in Steven Garza, and whoever trained him (if anyone). The Derrick business is a derail, and I think the majority of posters are ignoring it.

There, since this derail is continuing have at it. The other thread is about Steve Garza and by deafult Chuck Slayton. It is in its own thread because, there are 2000+ views of the other thread. Archlight is part of the TX MMA scene and a negative slant could affect Krantz.

Look it up, confirm it, and let us know. Berserk already got the ball rolling. This was followed up by more information from Handsoffmma.

Although you were right about the derail gandp1120 calm down. It is much easier to shut someone up with facts, then to call them a dick. It is hypocritical of you to question a BB phony then, get upset when someone questions a person you know.

No, you didn't. Krantz lost to Spoon in Shreveport at the Ring Rulers event, and Spoon got the belt. Krantz dominated the first round, pounded Spoon from Mount and had an armbar secured at the end of the round, but Spoon didnt tap. 2nd round Spoon took his back and sunk in an RNC. Spoon won the belt.

I really dont want to be a dick about this, the guy fights, he's a good competitor, and I dont want to cast any negative comments his way, it's just that a few things are exaggerated. The claim of "4 belts in Texas" is what drew Arclights attention, it seemed a bit over the top. Considering that he's only had 3 fights in Texas, I don't see how he won 4 belts. Spoon and Krantz fought twice, once in Marshall for TAMMA, and once for Ring Rulers in Shreveport, and they split the two fights. Spoon won in Shreveport. If you want I can ask some folks from TAMMA if Krantz won a title in their org, but it really isnt that big a deal to me. The guy fights, and he seems to be doing alright. There's no need to exaggerate his performance.

His pro record seems to actually be 2-0-1, one fight ended in a draw, no winner declared. That's the fight that isnt listed on Sherdog.

Okay you guys keep talking about Ring Rulers.

Here is his record according that organization

    http://www.ringrulers.com/viewfighter.php?id=104

He also has at least one belt according to the picture.

They have fought three times, as far as I can find. At least two have been title fights.

Title fight that Beserk is talking about. I'm assuming this is fight #3
    Spoon vs Krantz
YouTube - Roy Spoon vs Derrick Krantz 165lb Title Fight

This fight, the announcer states, is a Middle Weight Championship bout. The announcer also states, Derrick has a 12-5 record. Derrick is also the current Champion according to the announcer.

    This is fight two.

YouTube - RING RULERS MMA- Derrick Krantz vs. Roy Spoon II

I can't find fight #1 but, the above video says he is the current champ at the time, that it is a rematch of their November fight and It also says Derrick is the current middle weight champ. It is quite possible he did see them fight for a belt.

The November fight was the one in Marshall, which Krantz won. I must have missed fight #2.

Actually Berserk, I'm totally correct. I was at all three fights. The first was in Nov 07. D-Rock won, the Second and third were both in Shreveport. Roy Spoon won the second fight and D-Rock the third, which is how he regained his title belt and that is what I was referring to in my original post that he had the title. And I'm not exaggerating his performance, I saw him fight his PRO debut at Cage Kings hosted by the Horseshoe Casino. and said that I BELIEVE he is 3-0. Whoever wants to hear it straight from D-ROCK then look him up on myspace.

The problem is that this blog was started with no back ground information completed and now it is spinning totally out of control with assumptions and weak support. If GRANDP1120 (John) was truthful with Steven Garza from the start.(not hiding behind a internet blog and rallying support to discredit him). He would have visited his school and gained intell then started a blog to gather more information. Instead he pretended to be a potential student, refused to reveal his name to Mr. Garza, did not accept the initial email invite to his school, questioned the rank of a friend (BEAR) of Mr. Garza's who is a traditional Jiu-Jitsu Master/Judo black belt and then started a MOB like response to attack Mr Garza with no background info. Oh, and for anyone out there that does have a school; wouldn't you want to know if you students are out challenging another schools instructors. Why wouldn't you take this info to your instructor first, gain his support then proceed ahead. The whole way this was started and has developed is a JOKE! If Mr. Garza truly is a BJJ blackbelt it is too late to retract all of this negative publicity. But I guess they say all publicity is good publicity, right!

I checked out the link provided by Berserk and can tell you that the first two fights listed in 2007 are not supposed to be listed as PRO fights. D-Rock was an amateur for both of those fights, and did not turn PRO until Jun/Jul of 2008 at the Horseshoe Hotel and Casino in Shreveport, La. and is set to fight there again on 10 Oct 2008 according to www.cagekings.com

Now a personal attack on me. Ok, we are planning the trip for next week. We will have about 4 guys with us. Second, if you really know who I train with then you would know who my instructors are, Carlos Machado and Max Bishop. I really don't think they have a dog in this hunt. Finally if you wanna get personal then I guess you know where I train and you know where it is. Balls in your court.

I have always left that slight chance he is telling the truth. I will believe nothing till I have the proof in front of me.

As far as Dereck, I consider him to be a good friend. I have no quearls with him nor do I want any. Dereck has come by Elite and trained as well as hitting up the garage. I have always helped him because I believe he has all the potential in the world. This will be the last time I post on this thread because I don't want to get things derailed from my original concerns, finding out if Steven is a real BJJ blackbelt.
