Randy Couture loves his veggies

So I read an interview with randy couture a couple of months ago where he said that he eats lots of greens to help with recovery at his advanced age. Since then, I have been eating lots of brocolli/baby spinich/cucumber and pretty much anything that is green that I can find (specifically to see if it helps alleviate the pain from judo). This seems to help with the soreness, I'm not sure if it is psychological or what. Anyone else subscribe to this type of diet (for this reason)?

When I was a kid, I saw some guy on TV that would always eat a can of spinich whenever he needed an extra boost of energy and this guy had huge forarms. I mean he sucked it down right through his pipe. Ever since then I've always eaten my spinich and smoked a corncob pipe.
