Like everyone else, I hope it's not him, but I fear the worst. The guy seemed to have struggled through so much, I would have for this to be the case.

An article was just posted at UFC.com which does indeed state that Evan Tanner has died:

This freakin sucks. I'm pretty sure the family and friends of Evan Tanner will be in our thoughts and prayers.

read the article, its pretty interesting/heavy.

I think he was done with it all, or at least testing his limits. wtf do I know though? I just get older and more sick of people dying too young.

Its really absurd because I don't know the guy but he did bleed for us and show some real heart and I'm moved by his passing.
Many things we do naturally become difficult only when we try to make them intellectual subjects. It is possible to know so much about a subject that you become totally ignorant.

Oh, that's so sad. At least no one can say he didn't live life to the fullest while he was here.

Sucks. Loved to watch Evan fight. Not ever going to be the best in the world, but always gave 100% and fought all the time. Salute to a warrior! Mad props bro - you will be missed and never forgotten.

...he said he was going out on some kind of sabatical, with gear and everything. Sounds like poor planning and overextending himself and his skills/resources. The desert is unforgiving.
