Eskrima is the ancient Filipino art of beating the piss out of your opponents with embarrassingly small wooden sticks. For centuries, it was used by the Filipinos to beat each other senseless, but when Magellan arrived in 1521, some Filipinos decided to diversify by using it to beat foreigners senseless.

P.S. Just had first lesson. Will add FMA someday to that style field.

I've used a couple of things from silat. That puts it one up on Krav Maga, yeah. But I get your meaning.

Quick question: why does Krav Maga get so much hate? I mean, from a cursory glance at what its basic principles are, it seems to be a pretty legit martial art. At the least, much more legit than the MANY "practice glorified aerobics while wearing ancient costumes" styles out there.
