Any submission can be an injury waiting to happen without proper control. this one much less than some others though because it does not put twisting pressure on the knee or ankle....

UNLESS I CAN SOMEHOW GRAB HIS TRAPPED HEEL WITH A FREE HAND AND TWIST IT!
Not sure if this is phsyically possible or not, but I'm going to try it and see if it can help. Could be real useful against an opponent refusing to tap if it does somehow work.

    thanks :new_infin
FACT- Eddie Bravo invented the triangle choke when he used it to tap out helio gracie at an ac/dc concert.

I find the video very interesting. I like the way it is done seems fairly simple to use.

Yeah, the principle behind that triangle is one of the easiest ways I've found to consistantly lock and finish flying triangles. it naturally locks real tight with almost no adjustment. I have a few set-ups for that I like better then the 2 on 1, but then again I'm not very good from the 2 on 1 in general. Anyway for some reason that's the only one they put in the vid. my favorite should be coming soon, and I'll make another thread for it. let me know if you come up with any details I might work better for you.

I tried this response to the triangle last night. What I find is their figure four pops open long before I had the chance to get my leg over. Also, a stumpy legged person triangling me is not in so much danger of this, since my thigh can't reach their legs. But I'm long in the body, so that might just be me. Good thought though.

If you want the techniques rated you should seperate them.

Your defense rating gets an 8 it'll take awhile for beginners to get these mechanics down. The flying triangle, amongst other flying techniques get a 4. Novel but not too effective. Definitely some bragging rights when you pop it on and fun to do. Not for everybody though and too complicated to put in your main arsenal as a go to maneuver.

This happens a lot when you try this technique on shorter limbed people that have trouble holding a triangle in the first place, but usually the grip doesn't break until I get my leg over. If that happened to me I'd throw your leg over anyway or slide my knee through and pass... after all you are out of the triangle.

Try drilling this technique on someone lankier that's good at Triangle Chokes. The submission actually tends to work best on the people that hit triangles a lot.
