Sparring is held one week out of the month. We wear cup, gloves, and shin/instep pads, and mouthpiece. Helmet and body shield are optional. Sah Bu Nim has us pair up point spar for five minutes, the we stop rotate partners and the resume. Limitations are no grappling and no strikes below the waist. These change at black belt where they are allowed.

The fans are metal and weight from 2 lbs (Child) to 20 lbs (large adult) for the pair. They are made of steel(modern) or in some cases iron(Older).

Samurais have fought against different armors. When the monguls invaded they were fought of and same with Europeans they were fought of until they came with guns and the Japanese had to get in close fast or hire ninjas to kill the westerners on their ships.

The katana is a weapon designed to slice through the opponent’s armor. The curve in the blade ensures that only one point on the blade hits at a time to channel all the force to that spot. It is also the only style that doesn’t need a shied to defend. It is a sword that is effective in one hand but is still heavy enough to parry or block opponent’s swords. Fighting is for gangsters and martial arts for self defense. I find it funny that you mention every one but the Koreans. That was their rule that they abided by. And hw would they only know tai chi there are over a thousand different martial arts. No martial art is better than another there are only better practitioners of that style. The official name is Kuk Sool Won of Brownsville, Texas.

For reference I am 17 years old and have practiced martial arts since I was 10 years old.

I have trained at the kuk sool won for about 6 months which explains my blue belt in it

I say screw u all u don’t know ****. When u get your ass kicked by a 68 year old man how can it be due to his strength I speak from personal experience.
