    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    revenge of Asbel Cancio

I recently found a website claiming to have received an email from Asbel Cancio, the greatest Wing Chun fighter to ever step into the Octagon.

    "Dear chris,
firstly, i would like to thank you for your kind words and yes i am the Sifu Cancio that fought in UFC 5. i cannot believe that almost 8 years later there is still
interest about my fight. i must tell you regarding your question about my thoughts going into the tournament, i had no particular thoughts other than
reacting to whatever my opponent threw my way. unfortunately the outcome did not go in my favor, but i must tell you that this experience opened my eyes and mind to a new level. i know that dave benetau did not want to find out first hand what my stand up abilities were even though he mentioned that he
would go toe to toe with anyone. regardless i give him credit for winning and showing me how effective grappling can be in a one on one scenario under those circumstances. remember the UFC was the brain child of Horion Gracie so
to a certain extent the rules have always favored grapplers. thank you for your email and hope to hear from you soon.

    your ving tsun brother,

    Sifu Asbel Cancio"
    Asbel Cancio is back!

"UFC favours grapplers" if it was the streets the wrestler would have been paralyzed by elbow strikes and eye gouges.

Very unlikely to actually be from Cancio. I hope it isn't, though, because then he will have learned nothing from his brutalisation.

Someone explain to me how a tournament that had very little rules favours Grapplers.

Anyone know what rules WERE in place by UFC 5?

" I shocked him with my skills on the ice becuase Wing Chun is great for hockey fighting." - 'Sifu' Milt Wallace

"Besides, as you might already know (from Virus, for example) - there's only 1 wing chun and it sucks big time" - Tonuzaba

There still weren't any, really. You could get fined for eye gouging, nut shots and biting I think. Hess thumbed Andy Anderson in the eye a whole fuckload and lost $2,000 for it, but the fight wasn't stopped and he would have continued in the tournament if he hadn't also broken his hand.

By your logic, nothing is relevant then.

2008 didn't care, why would you think 2011 would?
