    Severe DOMS?

    I was donig a contest with one off my friends to see who could do the most full range calf-raises, and I think I did too many. I am having Severe pain and my legs cramp up esspecially when I sit or lay down for a while.

    I can stretch them out and then I am able to walk around with some degree of difficulty. But they cramp right back up after I sit or lay down for a little while. Is this typical? And is there anything I can do besides just wait it out? What's going on here?

    Rest
    Ice
    Compression
    Elevation

    Take some ibuprofen, stretch as much as you can, and the pain should go away in a few days. If it lasts longer than a week, see a doctor.

    Man, when I used to walk everywhere, I could do calf raises till I got bored of em and not get sore the next day. . . at least thats how I remember it. Stupid cars. Its all the car's fault.

    I've had muscle pain last that long. Usually only when I do a hard work out after a long time off. Give it a couple more days, then see a doctor if it isn't better.

    In addition to potasium (either in pills, bananas or kiwis), ice the calves and keep strechting them. And when I say stretch them, I mean hold each single stretch for a minute or two, several times a day. After every stretch do a deep (painful massage) on the calves with icy hot (make sure that you wait at least 1 hour between icying and applying icy hot, however. CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED IF DO NOT PAY ATTENTION TO THIS.)

    It's not going to go away with one or two days, that's for sure. That's what you get for doing infantile high-rep contests. Don't do them unless you are actually training for such things on a regular basis.
