    Hell yeah! Hell no!

The 2008 Olympics and the death of boxing

Boxing is an amazing martial art. I've met and trained with boxers who have hands that are just scary. Boxing will never cease to be a relevant aspect of fighting. But boxing as we know it is dead.

The Olympics in China will go down as the documented end of boxing. The boxing event in this Olympics was a sham. The scoring, the judging, the refereeing...it is like watching the Roy Jones Olympic fight over and over again (ok...maybe not that bad...but you get my point).

Watching boxing today is painful. Not only is it inconsistent and boring...but very one of them leave themselves open for a single leg.

Not really...but I'm trying to get there.

And I'm not being melodramatic, I'm being hopeful.

I thought 2004 was the death knell of Olympic boxing? Isn't that when it turned into pointfighting?

It's been that way for awhile. However, I believe they just recently computerized it.

    Good.

Erase those dour thoughts, boxing will survive the travesty that was Beijing.
