    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Modern use for kata and ukemi

Doing bunkai for kata is actually what gave me the idea I could do well in pro-wrestling.

No kidding. I figured if I could make that look 1/2 way realistic then I could definely combine that and ukemi to step into the ring.

I'm not getting a call from vince anytime soon and I still have to work at learning the trade but that is why I thought I'd be able to have a good start.

Well, now that is appears you're serious, I can see how ukemi would be helpful in pro wrestling. Wrestlers I see tend to land flat on their backs, though, which is not really very good ukemi. Probably also explains why older wrestlers have a lot of back problems.

I would like to see a really buff Aikidoka become a pro wrestler. I'm sure they could pull off all kinds of cool-looking moves in the ring.

well serious enough that I went and got involved in wrestling but not so thick as to have thought I was gonna walk up and be able to do it right without learning the difference between what I had done in martial arts and the way wrestlers do it.

I just thought it was funny that it really did occur to me that I could use my martial arts background to help me get into a mask and stretchy pants.

This is the forum for silly ****, right?
