    Hell yeah! Hell no!

Don't criticize styles; everything has something useful to offer!

AKA THE STUPIDEST **** YOUVE EVER HEARD PEOPLE SAY ABOUT MARTIAL ARTS THREAD PART 958345 (after all, this is YMAS)

    Can't...take it anymore.
I'm sure many of you have had to deal with some serious faggotry both inside and out of and the internet, such as watching neat or amusing clips on YouTube and having the misfortune of stumbling into its comments section where everyone is an armchair martial arts ninjer shidoshi grandmaster like saijja. Unfortunately, I get to run into some IRL.

We've all believed really stupid things at one point or another. Luckily, we're not alone.
Here's a few from many different people.

"You shouldn't criticize any style because everything has something useful to offer. Everything has its use in certain situations at one point or another."

LIKE HANDGUNS, RIFLES AND BOMBS. PENS ARE GOOD TOO, THEY CAN BE WEAPONS OF PROPAGANDA

"It doesn't matter how big they are cause a skinny Aikido guy half their size could break their arm in 5 different places."

"Maybe like you showed, ki can be explained scientifically, but kungfu guys, they seem to do it different. Like, they really believe in it, and because of that it works differently."

"A really good aikidoka hasn't joined the UFC because that's for brutes and thugs, and aikidoka are honorable and promote harmony. Also, they would break too many bones and embarrass (the UFC fighters)."

"I think people are just hung up on these big guys wailing on each other in cages which takes almost no skill, because they haven't seen real masters from China and other parts of Asia fight."

    and my personal favorite~

"Take a guy from Aikido with 8 years experience versus a Muay Thai pracitioner with 7 years. The Aikido guy would probably have the advantage--he has timing, ki, perception. He takes people down with grace and years of experience. A Muay Thai guy--he just punches people in the face. I mean, how much skill does that take?"

These have come from all sorts of people--skinny nerds without real training, fatty nerds without real training, and even big black guys who could probably take all of the above mentioned without training.

So what kinda stuff have you heard?

Yeah. Unfortunately it's difficult to apply when claims are made by people who don't practice what they uh... worship. And then I get...
"Well if I had 10 more years of experience in so-and-so..."

As for big black guy, well... I'm not THAT dumb.

Recently I read on some website that a true martial artist would never say anything negative about another martial artist.

    was it MAP?
Many things we do naturally become difficult only when we try to make them intellectual subjects. It is possible to know so much about a subject that you become totally ignorant.

I hear that one a lot too.
They prolly took the 'art' in 'martial art' too seriously and figured it was something they could do whatever they wanted with and not be criticized for it, kinda like posting crappy plagiarized crap on DeviantArt.
