tension is equal to pressure times radius in a sphere. if you are a sphere, reduce the pressure directly or if this is not possible, reduce your radius so that the vector directed inwards is increased. or if you wish to decrease stress, increase your wall thickness since stress is tension divided by two times the wall thickness.

i think in 1 week of med school i process and incorporate more knowledge than i did in 4 years of college, or "university" as the canadians say. of course being assimilated by the borg, uh, i mean the medical community, has something to do with that i suppose.
