    Hell yeah! Hell no!

How come everyone treats these martial arts like poopy?

Everyone in the forum treats TKD, Wushu and Aikido like bullcrap.

Not that I'm against you guys though, I agree completely.

It just kinda makes me wonder why these MAs are treated so badly.

    So why are they?

Aikido - Lack of Realism, The opponent is submissive, No Sparring, The moves are almost impossible to replicate with a defending opponent, No one grabs a person's wrist in a real fight, No sparring. Etc.

Wushu - Sport, Too Fancy, The costume looks fruity, Entertainment, Not to be taken seriously, Just for show.

    TKD - ???

I wanna hear other people's opinions, like, has anyone ever used Aikido in a fight before?

TKD, like Karate spurs off a lot of McDojo systems, meaning in 12 months you'll get your black belt, but only if you purchase the $250 grading every month.

Yes there are good forms of TKD, yes there are good forms of Karate. I've managed to find good forms in both. But it doesn't excuse the other 90% now does it?

    I don't really know.

I understand why Wushu and Aikido are crap.

But I don't know why I feel TKD is so flawed, Even before I went to this forum, there was this gut feeling that kept telling me to back away from anything TKDish.

I was suprised to find that other here share the same sentiment, I thought that you guys could explain why we feel this way towards TKD.

It's just the law of averages that work against these styles. The average aikido school doesn't randori realistically. The average TKD school is just a daycare center for suburban brats. The average wu-shu school is.... I don't know enough about wu shu but I bet it uses antiquated forms, stances, compliant training etc...

That's not to say you can't find a good teacher or school that bucks the trend. But on average there's a lot of mediocre crap being passed off as martial arts out there. The styles that are venerated on this site, Muay Thai, BJJ, Kyokushin, Judo, Wrestling, Boxing, on average have consistently valuable training where ever you go.

    Thanks for your answers guys.

    My suspicions were correct.

BTW, I saw a systema clip on youtube, and I found it to be worse than Aikido.

WTH is the deal with systema.

Cause they fucking stole my girlfriend, ran over my dog (on accident, but who the **** also backs over it on accident!?), and I'm pretty sure they've been stealing my ideas.
