**** that sucks, pretty much one of the reasons i haven't told anyone at work i train martial arts yet. They generally go 'oooh' and think of the tkd, karate, wing chun people they know who boast about their deadly techniques. Instead i go to the 'gym' straight after work every day of the week.
Your best bet is to only talk about him if one of your co-workers mention him and plainly say that he's full of it. No reason to make his problems your own, he'll sink by himself. -

I'm sure this guy lies about several thousand other details of his life. Play dumb about what he does with other people ("Oh, so-and-so trains? I've never seen him at any of the tournaments/fights/etc, so I didn't know that"). Let him make his own noose and tell people after he embarrasses himself and quit that you knew he was full of it all along but felt bad for him. You come out looking like an ego-free hero, him like the sack of vinegar and water that he clearly is.

#1: The PanAM games do have a very competitive karate competition, but it's krotty not mma (and I doubt he was there either).
#2: Thank you for reminding me why I never talk to anyone about martial arts except the people in my martial arts classes!!
#3: People like this are why whenver I see nothing but "mma" in people's style fields I half-assume they self-train in their backyard.
Edit: Oh, and there's a specific U.S. team that goes to the Pan Am games and similar int'l competitions. You should be able to check and see if he was a member (the coach is Tokey Hill), but seriously, why waste more time on that douche? He's just sad and wants attention.Last edited by maofas; 8/15/2008 10:26am at .

My sentiments exactly. I think he's gonna get fired today, azamaterafact.

That'd be serendipitous.
