if you watch the match, you'll see that Mir's hips are above lesnar's knee.

Oh okay- you know, I had thought it was a footlock but then was looking over his wiki article which said it was a kneebar.

    The perils of trusting wikipedia...

It was a kneebar, and a lot of submission artists bet the **** pounded out of them right up until the get the submission when working from the guard (or in this case half guard). Just look at big Nog, he gets his faced pounded in right up until he taps his opponent. Does this mean that they suck at submissions? Clearly not, and I don't think Lesnar made any kind of "big mistake which cost him the fight". Mir is just that good.

but the Question is, when Lesnar kidnaps the princess, will Mir be good enough to jump and dodge those barrels and climb the ladders to save her?

So apparently, Lesnar doesn't have the internet.

    At all.

According to his interview with the Freakanomics guy.

In regard to the “You haven’t paid your dues” stuff: sure, I came into this sport with a name, but I didn’t just build my name and my reputation in pro wrestling. I also came in with twenty years of amateur wrestling experience.
I got to beleive that all those years with the WWE have givena head for marketing, if not for finance (he went from private jets to a 2001 Chevy Malibu, LOL!).

Not to belabor the terminology discussion, but the Wikipedia entry for "armlock" has a good overview of the various shoulder and elbow locks and what people call them.
