Banan trees aren't tough at all. I was kicking one in my backyard a few days ago. The heavy bag at the kung fu gym was actually harder. Also, banana trees can get destroyed relatively easily. Then you won't get your bananas.Originally Posted by Goju - joe

I really hope that the sarcasm of this post isn't lost upon anyone.
PROOF that I'm not a completely useless poster:

allrighty a serious contribution from me: forget all the crap of bone conditioning and etc.
rolling stuff like beer bottles and such over your shin works.
It desensities the skin on the bone to a certain extend.
ive done it too.
kicking hard objects ( i use a wooden beam thats lightly padded) is about training character.
it will hurt and its normal it will hurt, its just it will hurt less over time.
forget all that crap about killing the nerves in your shinbones etc.
just kick the damn thing and take the pain, its a characterbuilding excersise not so much a conditioning excersise.
look at this video, its a real baseballbat and all.
she breaks it and THEN watch the leg she used to kick it with, you can see she's walking a bit difficult..because heer shin by now is fucking hurting.
