What are your opinions of this method.... Is it really more dangerous then other methods.... Is the reward faster gains in flexibility?

at my school we do pnf stretching all the time, mixed with regular stretching. I think its pretty good....the idea being you cant just be flexible.....you must be strong and flexible.

It's awesome comrade!
I have Pavel's book "Instant Flexibility" or something it was pretty cool but like any stretching program the key is sticking with it. I didn't, my gains over my normal stretching have almost completely disappeared now about 4-6 months of laziness.

PNF stretching isn't considered dangerous.
In that article, they've got some stretching that combine PNF with ballistic type exercises 'hold-relax-swing' . That can be dangerous.
hold-relax and the hold-relax-contract are fine.

I read the danger is because you eventually overcome the stretch reflex you needed to be careful to not damage the muscle too much.
