For all the SNAFU's that were happening, this event actually exceeded our expectations. I really look forward to having you guys at my next event, which is Saturday, October 18th at the Sports Center in Lansdowne, VA. Compared to this weekend, October's event should run like a well-oiled machine!
Your events seem to be taking off pretty nicely, have they been getting bigger?

They are getting a little bigger. This particular show really wasn't as successful (attendance-wise) as we would have liked, but with all the chaos and problems we experienced, we're amazed that event even took place at all. Fortunately, everyone was real cooperative and understanding with us as we sorted through all the difficulties....

I'd say that overall, the show was successful, especially from the standpoint of the participant and the crowd. Everyone seemed to have a good experience! Logistically, this was a complete and utter disaster, and not to pat ourselves too hard on the back, but we are literally in awe of the fact that we pulled this off!

My next event is scheduled for Saturday, October 18th at the Sports Center in Lansdowne, VA. We are looking to draw a crowd of around 500-600.

Woman with short brown hair in some of the pics. I've trained with her in the past. she is a BEAST on the ground. Aside from that - she is one of the loveliest people I have ever met. Truly a stellar and very humble individual.

I will spare everyone the details. From the outside looking in, we seemed to have held a successful event. From our perspective, though, the entire event was a nightmare! With a lot of ingenuity and teamwork, we made it all work!

    Fight #2:
Marcus Hemsley (Keystone Boxing of Washington, DC) vs. Nicholas Robinson (Capital Punishment MMA/Maguilla's BJJ of Silver Spring, MD)

    Result:
    Nicholas Robinson by Submission-1 (armbar)

    Fight #3:
Jonathan George (One Spirit MA of Herndon, VA) vs. Rick Mansoor (Evolution MMA of Sterling, VA)

    Result:
    Jonathan George via Unanimous Decision

    Fight #4:
Ruby Gee (LA Boxing of Arlington, VA) vs. Shirley Moody (Real Contact Fighter Gym of State College, PA)

    Result:
    Shirley Moody via Unanimous Decision

    Fight #5:
John Nickle (One Spirit MA of Herndon, VA) vs. Michael Snyder (Capital Jiu Jitsu of Alexandria, VA)

    Result:
    Michael Snyder via TKO-3

    Fight #6:
Jeriel Echevestre (Plato's Cave of Columbia, MD) vs. Dane Lampe (Capital Punishment/Maguilla's BJJ of Silver Spring, MD)

    Result:
    Dane Lampe via Ref Stoppage-2

    Fight #7:
Ben Smyth (One Spirit MA of Herndon, VA) vs. Dan Lampey (MMA Institute of Richmond, VA)

    Doesn't really surprise me.

I've seen codebases (albeit on very small projects) that were total trash that somehow managed to run.

Ask Barb about knife fighting if you really want her to scare you :)

Congrats to Mike Snyder for winning his first amateur fight. :)

Too bad Ruby lost. She is a tough cookie. I've sparred with her a few times.

I'll try to make it to the next one. This past Sunday, I was stuck in Buffalo waiting out bad weather at the airport.
