You don't need a skipping rope.
Do box jumps.
Pick 4 points on the floor in a rectangle shape. Jump from point to point clockwise for a few minutes, then reverse it for a few minutes. As fast as you can.
For variety jump to points in specific orders.
I got these from Frank Shamrock's home workout tape (also on Tony Cecchine's Catch Wrestling fitness DVD)
Also, try
The squat thrust.
Drop down to a push up, spring back up, jumping off the ground as high as you can, repeat...The Wastrel - So attractive he HAS to be a woman.
