pretty much anything you can do with a gi/lapel rope, you can do with a belt, if it's cooperating.
baseball choke from side control. easy. same setup as with a lapel rope, you just start a bit higher.
not a choke, but you can use his belt to hook his arm for a simple scissor sweep, then transition directly into armbar. get it right, and you can do it without touching his arm.
on what planet is this considered "dirty?"One of the guys in particular like to play dirty, meaning he likes to do **** like choke you with his own gi,
edit: forgot to ask, do you care if the choke is tournament legal?Last edited by pauli; 8/01/2008 10:05am at .

Why don't you try leaving your ego at the door and train, rather than worrying about one of your training partners getting the best of you.
Choking someone with your gi, belt, their own gi or belt is a valid technique. It is not dirty. Oil checking or eye-gouging are some examples of dirty tactics. -
