YMCA closed and Master Spiers could find not find a new place to teach.

Ok there's no way that school has a 7 in grappling, much less a 9 in striking without a full contact fight team. Go review the rating criteria.

I interpreted "full contact fight team" as in they do competitions, which at the very least we don't do right now, given we have no students past green belt. We do full contact sparring.

Oh! I think I get it. The 9 in aliveness shows the level of contact in class, while for striking and grappling it has to be done in competition. Ok! That had me confused. So that means it can only have a 5 in those, right?

A 9 in striking would be if an Olympian boxing coach, or a decorated k-1 kickboxer was teaching your class. A 9 in grappling would be, similarly, if you trained at a gym coached by an Olympian judoka and a Jiuitsu world Champion and a renowned wrestling coach.

So yeah.

I see. He has no competition record to my knowledge. I'll have to ask about that next class.
