Should have tapped
The bottom line is that I didn't tap out for a Kimura and there was a rather loud crack from my elbow. One day later I have full range of motion but some pain. Just looking for anyone who has experienced the same thing to give any advice (other than tap out next time).

ice ice.... more ice... some NSAID's.... then more ice
and rest.In summation your argument denotes a lack of intellectual honesty on your part. It is my contention that this matter would best be solved with fisticuffs. I believe I will be victorious in this regard.

That really sucks. Hope it heals quick.
I've had loud, temporarily painful cracks come from my elbow...and be perfectly OK in three days. I doubt this is what happened however...
How do health insurance?

Ouch, least it was from your elbow and not your shoulder..(I've had problematic shoulders for 2 years now, its no fun.)
Ice it, don't be afraid to take time off if you feel you have to. A week or two off is nothing in comparison to potentially months off(should it be aggravated further)
Just let your body do it's thing. (Heal up!)

I'm going to Japan for two weeks this weekend anyway so it looks like I'll be resting it. Thanks.

That sucks. Did your hand go numb or tingly? If so, that indicates a rather specific nerve was affected (I'll have to ask CdnPaddy who studied anatomy for the specifics), but that might affect your best treatment.

I have flexible shoulders, but that makes me consider not trying to escape omaplatas or kimuras
