    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Dream 5 *FINAL CARD*

    Tatsuya Kawajiri vs Eddie Alvarez
    Shinya Aoki vs Caol Uno
Joachim Hansen vs Kultar "Black Mamba" Gill
    Mark Hunt vs Allistair Overeem
    Yoshihiro Akiyama vs Katsuyori Shibata
    Hideo Tokoro vs Takeshi Yamazaki
    Kuniyoshi Hironaka vs Motoki Miyazawa
    Joseph Benavidez vs Kodo
    Daisuke Nakamura vs Andy Ologun

Tokoro is still in and Kid Yamamoto is OUT.

This card has been cursed since day 1.

    * The 8th matchup was initially to be postponed until DREAM.2 due to the injuries of Vitor Ribeiro and Caol Uno along with Gilbert Melendez's prior commitment to Strikeforce. DREAM officials decided to directly seed Caol Uno into the 2nd round against Mitsuhiro Ishida as the 8th fighter.
    * Nick Diaz was originally scheduled to fight Hayato Sakurai to determine the DREAM Welterweight Champion, but Diaz had to pull out due to contractual obligations to EliteXC.[1]
    * Mirko "Crocop" Filipovic had been a long rumored participant. Originally scheduled to face Jerome LeBanner, and later Mighty Mo Siligia, Mirko had to pull out due to a recovering shoulder injury and minor impending knee surgery. Mirko expressed interest in fighting at DREAM.6 in September.[2]
    * Denis Kang had been another long rumored participant.[3] With one fight left on his FEG contract, Denis Kang would have become an unrestricted free agent at the conclusion of this bout. However, he was pulled from the card late in July for unknown reasons.[4]
    * After his bout with Mirko "Crocop" Filipovic was scraped, Jerome LeBanner was scheduled to fight Mark Hunt. However, LeBanner had to pull out late due to injury.[5]
    * Appearing on the original DREAM.5 banner, Minowaman was pulled from the card to instead fight at DEEP: Gladiators.[6]
    * The bout between Norifumi "KID" Yamamoto and Joseph Benavidez has been cancelled due to a knee injury Yamamoto suffered in training. As of now, DREAM officials are looking for an opponent for Joseph Benavidez.[7]

I'm really looking forward to Aoki vs. Uno and Hunt vs. Overeem.

I'm going to be betting on Hunt by KO. Still sucks that Crocop can't prove himself against LeBanner though.

For a "cursed" card, there's still a hell of a lot of interesting fights on it.
You know Uno-Aoki is going to be a technical grapplegasm, Hansen and Alvarez always are interesting (for completely different reasons) and Overeem-Hunt has definite potential to be a spectacle.

There isn't an emoticon large enough or one that can slap you across the internet to show you how annoyed I am with you right now.

The Aoki Uno fight was pretty good. Not as zany as I was expecting, but still good.

Was it just me, or was Aoki getting punchzored frequently?

Being a rabid Hansen fan I don't think I've ever yelled so loud during an MMA match in my life. That was amazing. Hopefully he will finally get the respect he so sorely deserves.

Interesting the way this fight was quite similar to their last one, except Hansen was ready for the gogoplata this time...

Yep, postured out when Aoki was trying to go to Chill Dog from Mission Control IIRC. Anyone who has every played rubber guard has had that problem, though few have been so severely punished for it.

Here's to Hellboy subbing Alvarez and enjoying a long reign.
