Don't know if Sati actually created the sun, the sun has always been there since Matrix 1, but definitely it was a spectacular sunrise, perhaps her purpose is to modify sunrise and sunset to make it more beautiful, hence a purpose. But a most excellent analysis of Neo/Smith battle and conclusion!
PS - What is man but an organic machine?
