We dont wear shoes in the dojo, so for MMA and BJJ i'm barefoot. But all my other training is done outdoors or in the Gym (running, soccer etc) so i have shoes on.
Where i trained in melbourne last year (kung fu) we could wear shoes on the mat as long as they didn't have rough soles to ruin the mat. I still trained barefoot because my sneakers were made for running.
I prefer not to wear shoes in general, I'm more comfortable moving without them on.
Chaos? Panic?... Disorder??

I'm with that one. My old tkd teacher insisted we buy and use those expensive tkd shoes when we trained (which he, of course, sold). Most of the comps were done barefoot and one time I yanked the nail of my big toe pretty much off on my opponent's hogu when I missed a sidekick.

I wear shoes (tkd training shoes) for my TKD training because we train in an old gymnasium and the floor is not the best, plus it gives you some better grip. Same when attending seminars and you have to do footwork on that rubbersomething floor, will get you blisters and that is not good for training either.
