    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Sherdog Fight Finder covers what?

First: I used the search function, repeatedly... no luck.

What competitions does sherdog's fight finder cover? Is it all-encompassing in the world of MMA?

Anybody heard of a guy named Tommy Galloway? A friend of mine said he was a 'cage fighter' so I looked his ass up. Sherdog's got nothing on him.

Should I take that as conclusive evidence?

This is something I would ask the people at Sherdog.

Yeah, you'd think they'd say it somewhere on their site. But no.
    Besides, I don't know if I trust'em.

From what I understand, Sherdog's Fight Finder aims to cover all recorded professional MMA bouts. In some cases, the definition of MMA is used somewhat loosely, as they include pancrase bouts, old 1980s vale tudo matches, and fights with a modified MMA ruleset (IE ground fighting time limits). What they do not include are san shou, grappling matches, kickboxing, amature MMA, and exhibition MMA fights.

However, the sport is still relatively young in terms of how fights are recorded and it is impossible for one website to update and list every single certifiable professional MMA fight in history. So, while sherdog is the best and most accurate MMA fight record site out there, it is possible for someone to have pro fights that are not listed on fight finder. Nonetheless, if someone claims to have a substantial amount of pro MMA experience but are not listed on fight finder at all, then they are likely bullshitting you.

fcfighter.brinkster.net is a more comprehensive MMA fight database. Even my backwoods kentucky fight was posted on fcfighter within 24 hours.

Sherdog is listing my semi-pro MMA win at one show but not the others. MMA Universe fightfinder has a complete record for my semi-profights (but it says my third fight, the one on sherdog, was a pro fight).

So if you check MMA Universe, Sherdog and FCF and it's not there it's highly unlikely the guy's fought pro rules in the cage in the last 10 years.

I would immediately suspect anyone who used the term 'Cage Fighter'.

I'd say this is a pretty accurate assessment from my experiences.

I wish there was a fight finder for kickboxing matches....
