Aren't they, though? I'm not saying they don't ever work or that no one ever does them. But getting one from half guard is more difficult than getting one from guard. Getting one with the arm in is more difficult than no arm. Getting one from half guard with an arm in is even more of a low percentage move. And it's easier to escape from too, no?

If you have his head under your left arm and your legs are in half-guard around his left leg, it's a perfectly legit sub, and in fact it's often easier to finish the arm-in guillotine this way because it's easier to get on your side.
If you have his head under your right arm and your legs are in half guard around his left leg, you ain't gettin' ****, and you're probably gonna get kimura-ed.Undisputed KING OF ASSHOLES. -
