I hurt my knee fairly badly when I was 23. I didn't go to the doctor because I was poor and uninsured.
16 years later, it still doesn't work right.
When I hurt the other knee three years ago I went straight to the doctor. It didn't hurt very badly when it happened. Turned out I had a small tear in my medial meniscus. Three staples and six weeks of rehab later, it works as well as it used to.
Being too stupid to go to the doctor when your young will give you plenty of time to regret that decision as you get old. Plus, as an added bonus, when you re-injure the injury, it will hurt just like the first time you got injured. Now that's something to look forward too huh?
Guess what the moral of my story is? -

Hokay, so I have a strained ACL, good call Kagan, very close. I have to take it easy for a month, no intense movements, play with a few fun leg exercises. I guess I got lucky this time. But that *pop* noise still makes me shudder every time I think about it.
I want bionic knees. Dammit I hate injuries.
