I enjoyed a lot of it. First of all look at it for what it is. All I keep hearing from the members here is "that fancy stuff would never work on the street" NO ****! If you go up to Mike, Matt, Craig, or Sharkey, they will tell you the the same damn thing. I know, because I work with Craig and Shihan Sharkey. These people who were in the filming can't help what Dicover does as far as narrating is concerned. I didn't agree with some of the narration but overall this was well done. Plus Mike needs to work on his throws. :) I was hoping it would show more of the biomechanics as that seemed to be what they were playing this out to be. I did enjoy the documentary aspects of it. However, I am biased as I know the people in it.
I enjoyed watching the different weapons being performed and the breaking as well as the watching the traditional forms.
As for Mike not getting into any real street fights, well hey, the man is a very likable and warm person. If you all meet him face to face you will see why. Because he has never been in a street altercation he shouldn't teach martial arts? I know DI's in the military who have never been in a war, should they be training our men for combat?

I found the use internal graphics misleading.
They made the show to be something it was not.
The whole premiss of the show was misleading.
I found it insulting at times and boring at others.
I found their "use of science" pathetic.
In all, the show was a prime example of ALL that is wrong in the MA, namely the BULLSHIT and the blatant self promotion.

I found the USE of the graphics irrelevant to the whole show, is that better than "misleading" ?
If you are gonna show them, make a point, explain the uses the biomechanics, ANYTHING !!
See the one were the "insinuate" a cracked rib from the jumping side kick? and the guys is walking about, stretching his arms over his head !!!! what a fucking joke.

Look, thw show was all about "promoting" the schmucks in it.
Nothing else, I mean, did you get ANYTHING of use from it ???
All the fucking baton twirling was making me dizzy !!!
All the jumping and fliping in the Kata's made me yearn for the Olympic gymnastics !!!!
IT was ALL the is wrong with the MA in the USA.

I liked the clips from The Last Samurai, especially the one with all the ninjas! Other than that it kind of sucked. I think it was a big infomercial for "Extreme Martial Arts" which is the thing that the teacher on there started.

The laugh I had watching Tom " I am a trained samurai " Cruise talk about his crieling 7-8 months of training with the seriuos look on his face. He was hitting what he wanted to hit when he wanted to hit with power , forgot to say " when my instructor let me hit"
After reading Jekyll's threads I bring back an old sig.......
Do you really train or just bore people on message boards and parties talking about it.
