The UFC's big announcment?
We have been waiting for a big anouncment from the UFC and I gues this is it
Lorenzo Fertitta has resigned his position as president of Station Casinos to take on a more active role in the UFC.
On the surface it really doesn't seem like a big announcement, but Fertitta is leaving a billion dollar a year job to focus on the UFC. I see nothing but great things and more growth coming from this.

I have to say, this isn't as big as UFC action figures.

So we can expect Randy Couture to be pulled out of the harbour in concrete shoes before the end of the week?

This is bigger than it seems. One of the big issues/criticisms of the UFC is how abrasive Dana White is when doing business like negotiating contracts. With him remaining the public face and Lorenzo, a smooth operator if there ever was one, running the backoffice kind of stuff means you have someone who knows the audience continuing to market the company while you have a more professional, more businesslike guy running the nuts and bolts of the company.

I though the criticism against Dana was he pays the fighters jack **** compared to what the UFC takes in. Besides, dana is the UFC's vince mcmahon. I doubt he's going anywhere.
Anyway - Lorenzo. Are there details about his role or what (if any) changes to expect? You can't make people smarter. You can expose them to information, but your responsibility stops there.
