Its funny that Yoshida went from being a total joke in the eyes of internet fans to the real deal thanks to one loss but very ballsy performace vs Silva.

Anyone who can go to a decision with Vanderlei deserves my respect, unless it's Tito.

    Update:
There are special rules = No judges decision.

Fight will be declared a draw if no one wins at the end of regular time.

my head is with Yoshida, but my heart goes for Royce.

Im really hoping Royce can pull this one off though. Royce should leave the judges in, and I hope that is what will happen. He has a good chance of winning by decision, I see Royce striking more than Yoshida and attempting more subs. It has a good chance of looking like Mino vs Ricco.

I don't understand why people think that Yoshida will stall. He hasn't stalled in any of his fights yet, AND he seems to have a lot of personal interest in this fight (someone posted a translation of his "diary" on sherdog), AND judo people tend not to stall. Royce is the guy who's strategy is to get beat on for a while and then sub some guy who doesn't know anything about submissions.

Agreed. In Judo you have to attack every five seconds or something, and you are penalized for avoiding combat.

    good points.

but it does depend... in judo, and I have been guilty of this myself, I stall when I am on the bottom (guard). Hold a good closed guard for a while and the ref stands it up. Good tactic against a guy with good newaza.

The top game in judo newaza though, you are right, there is no stalling. Judoka are very aggressive in that sense!

    Yoshida will win. Thank god.
Normally, I'd say I was grappling, but I was taking down and mounting people, and JFS has kindly informed us that takedowns and being mounted are neither grappling nor anti grappling, so I'm not sure what the **** I was doing. Maybe schroedinger's sparring, where it's neither grappling nor anti-grappling until somoene observes it and collapses the waveform, and then I RNC a cat to death.----fatherdog

ha just like last time there was to be "no ref stoppage"

Actually, my prediction is a draw, with Yoshida clearly dominating. Then Royce complaining, and him and his followers creating some insane neurotic disorder based on believing that Royce is winning while getting his guard passed.
not likely. pride has biased judges, and remember yoshida represents japanese pride. even if it was no one dominating, yoshida would get the decision.
