Absolutely agree with Odacon. And if you were him, you'd do it too.

Two debuts for fighters new to the Light Heavy division: Brandon Vera down, Anderson Silva up. Vera is fighting Reese Andy, who I've never heard of, and Silva is fighting James Irvin.

Obviously, Fedor fighting again is still the trump card, and an American audience has been missing a decent heavyweight card for awhile. But now I'm at least interested in the UFC event and it's free, unlike the Affliction card.

I'm picking Silva by knee to the head and Vera by finally fighting in the appropriate weight class. How is Vera able to fight again so soon after being KOed though? What happened to the whole medical suspension thing?

    Oh, forgot...source: http://www.sherdog.com/news/news.asp?n_id=13292.

When was Vera KO'ed? He lost by TKO, but he didnt really take any damage.

Why the heck would Silva jump up? Maybe the LHW get more money, since it is the favorite of many MMA fannabes?

He is a dangerous fighter, and an extra few pounds of muscle could make he dangerous.

I hope Vera wins by KO, I like him, plus his wife is smokin' hot.

having anderson take some fights at 205 relieves the pressure on joe silva to find someone to fight for the belt at 185. i suspect they're planning on having anderson alternate between the two divisions to keep him active.

The winner of the Cote/Almeida fight gets a shot at Anderson and the title.

Dana White, on hearing people complain about his business practices.

It also is funny that everyone is mad at the big bad meanie UFC when Pride and K-1 routinely did this **** to each other.

I've seen him in the IFL. This is obviously a big step up for him.
I hope he wins, I've got a soft spot for most of the IFL guys.

I really hope he wins too. I just got back from the gym and Reese confirmed it. He said it happened really fast, the agent called and Reese got a four fight contract with Zuffa. He said no one else wanted to fight Vera. I really hope he wins because it would be great for his career, even though I think the UFC expects him to job to Vera.

But I got to watch Reese's first training session for the fight, and now I'm going to have to start a Reese Andy booster thread or something.

I dunno about anyone else, but I'm excited for Silva to move up. Much more interesting in terms of matchups at LHW than at Middle. Of course, since he'll be at a weight disadvantage and wrestling is his weakest link, we'll see how invincible he is at a higher weight class.
