If he is smart, he would be best served beating on chumps and then some C level guys for about 1-2 years before moving up to B-level. If he gets the right coaches (guys who can help him adapt is wrestling to MMA while continuing to improve and implement advanced grappling/submissions and quality striking) and the right training partners (guys his own size and bulk for training partners).
If his wiki page is right then he is currently 32 and would probably want to make a run at the big leagues before it's not a viable option for him anymore.
