i don't know if this is public knowledge or not, but I heard from a reliable source that Nick couldn't make weight because a few days before the weigh ins, he took a swim in the ocean. Swallowing too much salt water, effecting his water weight.

He made the effort to tell Corbbrey about it 2 days before the weigh in so that he knows what to expect and maybe not have to try so hard to cut weight as well.

In addition to having part of his purse deducted By EliteXC and given to Corbbrey.....Nick also matched that same amount out of his own purse to give Corbbrey for his **** up

thats the story as i know it

This from the guy so many here are claiming to be classless.

The challenging in the ring thing is a staple of most combat sports. GSP's comments to Hughes. Sherk and BJ after BJ beat Stevenson etc.
I'm guessing though that no one expected Noons's dad to be a douche. It is telling that Diaz didn't lay out Noons senior when he clearly would have been in the right to do so.

"SEAN SHERK, YOU'RE DEAD". And dead he was.

I doubt it would have been perceived as such. "24 Year Old Professional Fighter and all round Badass, Nick Diaz, beats the living **** out of Senior Citizen" is a bad headline for Diaz no matter how you spin it.

Yeah. But, if you watch, Noon's dad was mouthing at the Diaz brothers for awhile. At some point (based on stills I saw) Nate threw a bottle at Daddy after flipping him off. At that point pops mchub charged the Diaz brothers and Nick immediately tried to get everyone out.

Elite wanted the trash talk in the cage, that's clear. It isn't as if Diaz stormed the cage and stole the mic.

Funniest part was after Diaz challenged noons, Noons got on the mic and asked "Who here wants to see me rematch Diaz?" and the crowd booed like crazy.

I like the challenging part, its the thug want-to-be part I can not stand. Reminds me of all the little gangbanger idiots that populate the southland and stare you down.

As far as the purse matching, hes already been passed up by the UFC, he is running out of options for employment so I would do the same thing to stay in good graces.

Nick is usually one of the most exciting fighters out there, even in his losses. As long as there are promotions, there will be promotions willing to throw a lot of money at him.
