i train in my teacher's garage. it is small and freezing cold in the winter. we have only 1 old ass kicking shield that sheds stuffing every time we kick it. there's exposed concrete things on the floor of the side of the room so when we're rolling on the mats we have to have one guy on either side to keep the guys from hitting their heads. his school is better but it is far as hell from where i live.

I used to train at a KF school that played a loop of the Wong Fei Hung theme song from Once Upon a Time in China, and the Mortal Kombat theme. I chocked it up to authenticity at the time, as I was one of only a handful of non-Chinese guys that trained there.
But damn, the Mortal Kombat thing still haunts me.

Phrost...that's just strange.
At least it's better than them looping the theme from "Rocky".

Perhaps your school would be better if the students respected it, and the teacher a little bit more.
I couldn't see coming on here talking **** about my Sifu and insinuating that he is cheap and stupid.
Who gives a **** if your school is broke? Do you get good instruction and training? That's all that's important.
If your Sensei is a cheap bastard, that's being honest, not disrespectful. It's not Respect to just avert your eyes and ignore the obvious.
It's also not wrong to WANT better for your school...it's a business, and without income (which is based off PERCEPTION of the members and new-potentials) it will fold up and you lose a valuable resource. I always laugh when people say that somewhere is "too clean" or "too nice" and "can't be hardcore". LOL! So being cheap, dirty, disgusting and old is "hardcore" and better?
Function is important, but at some point you need to be able to acknowledge that that 15-year-old-threadbare-kicking-shield really does need to be replaced and spring for the couple hundred bucks to maintain your damn business.Regards,

I think the spelling errors (in a native speaker) would be way more worriesome
than the equipment issues...let's talk about why fat-fu shall we?
