Embarassing/Ghetto training tools/situtions

What are some really chessy/ghetto/tacky things about your MA school. Here are two that really bug me.

Sometimes we use these styrofoam block things, that were originally used as packaging for a computer or something like that. One person holds them, and the other hits it.

Even worse still, he works at a lab and somehow got a hold of some old X-rays. Some of body parts, others were just tests on the machine (one picture is of someones keys). One person will hold them while the other hits, as Sensei says how if you punch it right it will fold around your hand. DUH

These things, (those D@#M X-rays in particular) have gotten really worn out over the years. As long as I can remember they have been crumpled and torn up.

Now, I don't mind trying to get the most of some of our things because training tools can be expensive (duct taped sparring gloves, shields, a torn up mat), but what I really can't stand are the classes where it looks like Sensei needed to improvise, and pulled something out of the F@#$ING garbage to try to use as a training tool.

Thoughts? Similar experiences?

My MMA school is the bastard child of TGI Fridays and an airplane hangar. It's essentially a giant garage located in the middle of an industrial complex, spruced up with mats and carpeting and inoffensive bubblegum pop blaring out of the stereo system we had installed. The place looks nice (you wouldn't be able to even identify its origins if not for the fact that there's two bigass garage doors where trucks used to make deliveries back in the way), but there's so much crazy MA-related crap on the walls you'd think an Applebees exploded. Autographed pictures of Helio, articles from magazines of questionable repute, ads for the UFC games...I dunno. It's hardly garish, but kinda weird to see articles on how to improve your kiai pasted to the walls of a BJJ school.

I couldn't see coming on here talking **** about my Sifu and insinuating that he is cheap and stupid.

Who gives a **** if your school is broke? Do you get good instruction and training? That's all that's important.

btw...just curious...are you a male or female? I ask because in another thread you refered to yourself as "he" but your avatar is a girl? What's the deal there player?

Amp, I'm not here to bash my own Karate school. This is more of a humor thread, I think you are reading too much into it. I mean it more lighthearted than you are taking it.

Also, I am male. Yes I use a female avatar, because I like this avatar, sorry to confuse you.
