The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

Seconded. Alves is a serious fighter who didnt make weight, so what? He put on a helluva a show and owned Hughes. 4 pounds didnt make that big of a difference. What made the difference is that Thiago is a well rounded fighter who isnt scared of losing.

Funny I was trying to be as much of an asshole in my answer as you in your answer. Now whos crying?

I also see he took the fight on some what of short notice. But I dont think it affected the fight in any way. Alves should be in line for the title shot soon, he wrecked Karo and Now Hughes in spectacular fashion. Should it now be Alves vs. Swick.

Dude, you have been living under a rock, man, like, dude!

They became the main event as the UFC scrambled the **** out to save the whole thing.

Chuck and Mauricio Rua were supposed to be the main event. But Rua fucked up his knee.

Then Rashad Evans stepped in to face Chuck, but Chuck pull his hamstring (there is a nasty picture of that somewhere in the forums.)

Then James 'The Sandman' Irvin stepped in to replace Chuck and face Evans, but he got fucked (I think a leg injury or some **** like that.) Then either Dana or Evans (or maybe both, I dunno) threw their hands up in the air, look up to the sky filled with birds pooping at them and say "**** this ****, I'm going home."

Enter "Queen Esther" Hughes and Thiago "uber-cool" aka "tards call me fatass because I failed to make weight on short notice to save the fucking PPV" Alves to save the day (props for them both even if Thiago missed to make weight ON SHORT NOTICE.)

This is not to mention Leben legal problems that prevented him to fight Bisping. Murphy was pooping all over this event from day one.

I'm a big ATT fan myself so it's hard for me to understand why they don't have any champions (or do they?). Is there something I'm missing that's kept them taking home belts?

Yeah, of course, when you get to camps like ATT,Black House, Miletech, Team Quest, Greg Jackson's etc, it's kind of academic what one's criteria of "bestness" is. Is it how well the best guys do at the highest level of competition? Is it the average success of their guys? How quickly they can take someone from general athlete to pro mix martial artist? Number of titles held? At that level these guys are so far above everyone else that comparing them in any meaningful way is kind of hard, if not in some specific way.
