Jens Pulver vs Urijah Faber: The Sunday WEC fight that puts Elite CX in the can

The note about the WEC specifically claims that it has nothing to do with the fight being fixed.

Other than that, gambling actually has a lot to do with a fight being fixed. And having a sports arena based in the middle of Las Vegas definitely has to to with a fight being fixed. Maybe you don't know this, but the biggest players get into some serious action behind the casino scene, that is illegally. Take Steven Wynn for example, when I left Vegas, he was currently the newest big boy on the block, and had one of if not the most lavish casino on the strip. He was under major scrutiny for mob connections and illegal gambling brackets right before I left. Now, if you want to sit there and tell me that you don't believe that the big money around the UFC and WEC has anything to do with how the fights are fought, this obviously isn't the discussion for you.

The funny thing is that I keep getting bashed and de-Varroted for my honest feeling about the fight. The fact is that a fixed fight doesn't have to have a clear winner or loser. It's not Hollywood and it's definately not black and white. If you look at it from a business point of view, everyone is a winner and get's more publicity, which is what they really want.

You keep saying that I'm on Pulver's nuts, but actually don't find Pulver that exciting, and in fact, I think that if the fight was in fact fixed, he was in on it as well.

So, let's look at this from a business point of view-

Pulver's career is winding down. Urijah's career is on fire (for WEC standards), but he needs a big name challenge to remind the fans that he's number one. They both want publicity, which is what keeps you alive in this sport right now.

Bear with me now, can't you at least consider the possibility that a long drawn out fight, while saving the face of Pulver and showing the Urijah can go a full five rounds against a former top 10 fighter could be orchestrated by someone who might want the high ratings of the fight to carry on to the next WEC event?

Now, you can knock me all you want, you can take my "reputation" away (if you can call it that, you guys are making no counter points to my point and you get all these little green blips? Sounds like you earn your keep to me) but I would at least appreciate it if anyone could come up with something constructive to say.

Oh, and P.S- I don't believe in some conspiracy theory about fights being fixed, it's call conspiracy fact. I don't care if Faber doesn't ever get past 150, I don't care about Urijah Faber, but if you want to go there you might want to trace back and check to see how much BJ Penn and Sean Sherk weighed if your arguing that there's noone out there to fight him, or that the UFC couldn't supply a suitable weight class for him. In fact, I really don't know what your point was. And if it did have something to do with fighting good fighters, just go back to BJ Penn, who was it that he fought, Kat Clues? Poridge State Peer? Can't remember the names right now....

Iphaltuus, you need to back away from the keyboard and relax. Do NOT smoke weed or drink, just, take a deep breath, log off, and chill. Come back when you have a clear mind. Because, check this out, the Pulver/ Faber fight was real. Don't go and write a freaking novel about some gambling crap, here's the truth...Pulver/Faber really fought each other, for a championship belt. I can't believe I have to write that.

I would like a debate about a hypothetical situation. Actually I used to want a debate. Instead all I got was thoughtless dribble from people who have done as little or less research on a match than I have. I was never really bothered by the things that people wrote, just disappointed in their lack of effort. Word of advice, don't act like you know more about something than you actually do. If Beezer , or any other person who hypocritically told me to shut up etc, is actually Urijah Faber, Jenz Pulver or some high ranking member of the Zuffa LCC, I apologize. Otherwise, get a life.

I didn't tell you to shut up, that's rude. You might want to take a break, because, you are seeing things that are not there. The Kimbo Slice fight on CBS, I'm with you, that was a total snow job to keep Kimbo from losing. Pulver/Faber was a real fight, no fixing at all. That's the truth, sorry.

Why? You're entitled to your opinion, it's kooky, but, you have every right to post what you want. I never told you to shut up, I thought/think you're on drugs, that's a whole different matter. I'm a nice guy, telling someone to "shut up" is not my style. So, you can take me out of the "ect" group. Thank you.
