I bet on Kimbo to win in 60 sec. of first round!

I can forgive long commercial breaks. It is part of the deal with network TV, especially when fights are running short. Besides, it gave me time to get up and piss or get snacks.
I did not find the production so horrible either. What do you want? More gay Gladiator montages like the UFC opening (Insert sarcasm here)? Or how about production like Yamma? This was hardly the worst production ever...not even close. The interviews were good as was Shamrock's "lesson" on MMA. I kind of liked the labeling of the entrance music as well.
Regarding the fights, it was great to see Thompson who was supposed to be a can, kick Kimbo's ass. Should not have been stopped.
Carano's fight was also a good fight, also cut short by a poor stoppage.
Lawler/Smith was shaping up to be a great fight...another odd stoppage...but, If smith did say he could not see, I understand why the doc stopped it.
I can forgive a poor fight or two. I have seen too many shitty fights on UFC, UFN, and TUF to care about one or two bad matches/fights in EliteXC.
Some of the commentary was priceless - about Carano's weight, Thompson's ear "alien life form"...LOL.
I give EliteEX props for a decent job and some potentially good fights. It was not a bad debut for network TV. Again, my biggest complaint is the odd reffing decisions and doctor calls...which favored the EliteXC favorites. But, the UFC plays favorites too, offers up cans for some of their guys, etc...we all know this. All aspects of the game are political on that level.

I don't know what level Thompson's ground game is on, but I found it kinda suspect that he barely even attempted to go full mount on Kimbo multiple times dispite Kimbo not even trying to get his guard back after the first minuet or so. Kimbo catching elbows against the cage for a damn near solid minuet without a stoppage was just rediculous.
