No bickering, lads. IIF--which part of what he said bothered you, anyway? The power/muscle thing?

    re power

If you can't push him back over your leg you can reach around both legs and push sideways.

You'll both go down, but you will land on top of him.

Continued muscling is bad but, it is part of the learning process. I've seen so many students get pissed and give up because, they feel "muscling" is a bad thing.

Most things in fighting you learn through power, you then refine the movement to where it is basically effortless.

While I agree with your general sentiment, in the case of that particular throw it really should be easy during drilling. When I was thinking of how to explain it, I showed it to my (~130 lb) girlfriend; two minutes later she was tossing me over her leg with no arm strength or effort at all.

Ahh you misunderstand. Of course it should be easy while drilling. My point is muscling is a learning tool. People tend to think it is derogatory.

If you continue muscling yes there are prbolems. If you over think it to the point you stop training it, the phrase becomes detrimental.

Of course I must ask video please.

For all I know it was effortless cause you didn't want to sleep on the sofa.

I must have entered the bizarro universe. While looking through the "Street Fight Videos" section I found a video in which a seemingly untrained schoolboy uses a classic CMA throw (ten seconds into this video). It's a cousin of the one you were asking about, which is why I'm appending it here.
