Slappy, flailing haymakers possesing reasonable power but quite easy to evade. The throwing of such punches also opens you up to a KO as you its hard to keep your chin tucked and eyes on the opponent.
Sakmongkol you could kick all of the arses?! Really? Wow, you win the thread.

I am not trying to suggest that this is good or bad. I just posted it as an example of a notably distinct striking style.

Those Irish gypsies are not at all bad btw.

Yeah the gypies had pretty good technique. I was being tongue in cheek suggesting that some simple straight punching would be very effective against their slappy flailing style.

In the gypsy video you can tell that although the guy who won was probably not 'formally' trained, he has lots and lots of experience and it ends up resembling decent MMA because there are only so many effective way to fight another person. WTF was happening in that second fight though? the guy in the hoodie looked like he did not last very long.

The Russian one reminds me of the full contact Wing Chun fights I have seen.

You know, as much they're punching technique is off and they're leaning their heads forward and all....
They are sparring full contact, bare knuckle, and that gets my respect.

I didn't think that video showed anything really distinct.

You can see the same fighting style used on playgrounds all over the world.

Edit: Ok, i take that back, there are little bits of ok looking stuff here and there...but it still looks like what would hapen if you took a group of boys and had them train by just flailing at each other all the time, eventually some people would figure out a couple decent moves.

These are the professionals of playground fighting.

That was fucking awful. Reminded me of that Simpsons episode where Lisa and Bart got into a fight. Lisa says "I'm going to swing my arms, and if you walk into them it's your own fault." and Bart answers with "Well, I'm going kick and if you want into them it's your fault."

still confused about systema's lineage and why this would clarify it. The video is dated "Urals 1994". I recognize the outfits and the Russian Orthodox look to things here, but nothing revealing otherwise.
Many things we do naturally become difficult only when we try to make them intellectual subjects. It is possible to know so much about a subject that you become totally ignorant.

A funny thing. The black and white grainy video is clearly done on purpose to give it a more "authentic" and dated look. Even a shithole like the USSR had color video in 1994.
