I think Pulver has a decent shot at this one. Fabers riddum definitely saves him.
I think I would like Faber to win, though. So that after Jeff beats Mike Brown he can take Lil Evil then rematch for the belt. Maybe I'm nutthugging a little though... maybe.

Also, no one cares about Torres around here?

Torres is awesome but his fight is going to be a rapid and decisive squash, so it's not such a good topic of conversation.

Lets say you weigh..175, but cut down to 155.

weigh ins are a day before the fight, so after your weigh-in, you can rush to put taht 20 pounds back on.

PROOF that I'm not a completely useless poster:

That is not conducive to passionate cunnilingus, my friend, let me assure you.

Most of what you are cutting is water weight, though there is defiinitely fat being cut too. Guys who weigh say 165 generally have more muscle than at 155. So if they know how to cut right they get rid of all that water and make 145. Then the spend the time between weigh-ins and the fight rehydrating and eating good food and they'll get probably 10-15 lbs back on over night. The idea then is that they'll hopefully have a significant weight advantage over their opposition. Some people will say, "Why do that when it would be a lot easier to make 155 and not punish yourself?" The answer is that more and more fighters are being forced to make cuts like this because of the few guys who started the trend. Guys like Rich Franklin and Anderson Silva are the reason guys like Mike Swick have to cut to Welterweight for example.

I guess I'll say it...Faber is pretty much god now.

For a few seconds in round two I thought the old Jens Pulver was back, but it came and went pretty quickly.

Too bad we won't see a Faber vs. Kid Yammamoto fight any time soon, one of Urijah's proteges, Joesph, will be fighting him in July.

    Damn.

    *Crosses fingers* Faber v. Imanari

    Pulver IS WAY UNDERRATED

Jens pulver was the formost 155 in the ufc, a dominating organization with power and influence over most in MMA. But yet the incredible fighters UFC brought to him he destroyed, with the exception of his last bout. He took on the challenge of mantaining 155 pounds at a 145 frame, thats HEART and SKILL. He Went 5 full rounds with a 20-1 KID who has been at this weightclass for all his career, so dont give me that Faber is the best, they looked near even especially for going 5 ROUNDS. Pulver trained like a bat outta hell and proved he still has it, only one fight in at 145 and hes standing toe 2 toe for 25 MINS. Ya Praise Faber but remember some out there think pulver still has more skill.
