He may not be a knowledgeable writer, but I still think he's right in his overall point of view. This event will present Kimbo as the face of MMA to so many more people. That is just terrible. He has yet to prove he has any real skill, and this "main event" fight probably won't help at all. I'm afraid will have a bunch of Kimbo nutriders after this talking about how unstoppable he is.

The article is well written, though I still disagree with a lot of it. I concur with most what everyone else disagrees with, though I would also like to add this.
"Kimbo hasn’t fought anyone nearly as good as Mir or Herring. Who knows if he ever will? EliteXC and CBS are running his career like a boxer, even if trumped up records and mismatch fights have severely damaged that sports’ popularity.
Based on that mentality, you can understand why White was willing to walk away from the CBS exposure that, done properly, would have shot his league into the stratosphere. Obviously, he didn’t feel it was going to be done properly."
They make White out to be the savior to the sport for refusing to compromise his business plan. However, there is no evidence that supports the idea that the UFC/CBS deal fell through because CBS wanted to force White to mismatch fights. It wouldn't matter if EliteXC was on Showtime, Fox, MTV, or Pay Per View, with someone like Shaw at the helm, the match ups would remain the same regardless of network. It is just different business ideologies with the UFC and EliteXC, nothing more. -
