Roger Huerta vs Kenny Florian, Coleman vs Lesnar
UFC to Minnesota: Mixed martial arts bouts scheduled for August at Target Center
MINNEAPOLIS - The Ultimate Fighting Championship has added another state to its expanding reach.
The UFC will come to Minnesota for the first time this summer, when hometown heavyweight hopeful Brock Lesnar competes in the main event against Mark Coleman on Aug. 9 as part "UFC 87: Seek and Destroy" at Target Center.
"It's a huge market," UFC president Dana White said. "We promote the whole card, but obviously Brock's a big piece of it."
Lesnar, a former University of Minnesota wrestler who trains in the Twin Cities and will turn 30 in July, lost his UFC debut in February to defending champion Frank Mir.
"I had a good showing there," Lesnar said. "I don't think I would ever lose to him again."
Also, Roger Huerta will face Kenny Florian in a featured lightweight fight that will move the winner one step closer to a shot at the 155-pound title. The 25-year-old Huerta, who also trains in the Minneapolis area, was a wrestler at Division III Augsburg College.
Looks like the winner of Huerta vs Florian gets the next shot at the 155lb title.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone to come out to Seek and Destroy.
I hope someone takes it.

I really want to see Huerta demolish Florian in brutal and spectacular fashion. That's going to be a great fight for Jits IMO.
Also, I'd like to see Lesnar win one and get some momentum. The guy has a lot of potential and I don't want to see it blown by them feeding him to more experienced guys too early.
I understand that his name is a big draw with the WWE crowd, but I think he's way too inexperienced to be a main event right now.

I'm a shameless Huerta nug-hugger, but I have a feeling Florian is gonna win this one. The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris
