Who needs credentials when you have a name like GIJoe????
Seriously though, I'll give you a list of the instructors :
LI GUY 1 - Black Belt in Kempo, MMA Fighter (4-3) also train in BJJ and kickboxing
GIJoe6186 - Black Belt in Kempo, MMA Fighter (1-0) also train in BJJ and kickboxing
Colin - 3rd Degree Black Belt in Kempo, Black Sash in Kung Fu, MMA fighter (0-1) also trains BJJ and kickboxing, has some other creds that I'm probably missing.
I'll get a website up and running in June. In the meantime I plan to make a MySpace and maybe put up some pics/vids of training and the the facilities.
We always wanted to have a Kempo school back when we taught for a different organization. We always talked how we would make it "alive" though and cut out the bullshit. So this is our chance to give Kempo a good name on Long Island, because most of it sucks. -

In all honesty it's going to cater to the current gym members, which it needs to and thats what the owners want. They're primarily there for fitness.
I'm fine with that though because we can hold sparring afterwards and keep our pride lol. He even told us if we really want, he has no problem with us having an extra day for guys who want to compete and do whatever we want to do.
Plus, this gives me and the other guys a great opportunity. We get to teach martial arts and train a whole lot more. Train, teach a class, train. What could be better? -

Like GIJoe6186 said, we are gearing this towards current gym members. Mostly these people are here for fitness and something fun to do. We might as well teach them some real skills they can use on teh streetz.
Expect a form once in a while although we are mostly doing away with them from the syllabus, and stuff like that we will be introducing as tradition and explaining history of the art.
We are going to be straying the course a bit and putting some new things in our teachings. Head gear and gloves will be required once in a while.
However we have a nice place (ring, bags, mats, full gym, showers w/spearate locker rooms, sauna, etc.) and we intend to use it to it's potential. We are planning on bringing in some MMA and BJJ instructors soon to offer another program for those looking to fight/compete or just train "that there UFC stuff."
