Monson is pretty good with his hands, he even had a couple of pro boxing fights. That chicken wing reach of his just makes it close to impossible to land some decent shots on a guy of Barnetts size.

He needs to work on clinching and throwing upper cuts. He can't try and swipe and jab against bigger guys like Barnett or Sylvia.

IMO Monson is too small for heavyweight. He's like the HW Sean Sherk, complete with t-rex arms.

He gives up a ton of reach and size fighting at HW. I don't know if he could make LHW, but anyone with good standup and a good sprawl will give him hell ala Monson/Silvia.
